The Ninja Diet #21: It takes three weeks to change a habit...Or...?

"Check her out: this Swede eats the strongest food at the buffét"
21 days on the Ninja Diet, created by my son Elisha, PT at SATS Haninge, Stockholm.
There are many myths about how long time it take to change a habit. One common is 21 days.
In fact there are no answer. It's individual.
For me it's good to have a meal plan to stay on track. I don't have to make so many choices.
Some days have been hard. A lot of craving. Even though I have been eating too much it's nothing compared to the overeating earlier. I feel very terminated and strong. I am going to make this no matter how long it takes. I have gained so much energy eating good, well balanced food for three weeks. Cooking has been pure pleasure. My middle son also has lost 5 kilos. Elishas meal plan works!

Sunday was a nice day celebrating Vesak, "Buddha day" in company with more than 100 Thai people in Luleå. The food was fantastic! A festival of tastes. Not optimal food plan for me, but...

Rexflecting over the 21 past days I am happy with the outcome: more meditation, energy giving food,
a life changing goal is reached, I waited years for this to happen, started biking, have been keeping my inspiration by reading about health and good food.

Even though the change may take longer than three weeks I will now adjust my goals.
Tomorrow you can read more about it here at the Butterfly Battle blog!

1. Meal plan, well Thai food is healthy, but the amount!!!
2. Meditation, yes and listening and part taking of the monks recitation is very  relaxing
3. Inspirational reading: the newspaper Dagens Nyheter always give me new ideas. This time about bees non verbal communication abut finding new nests.
4. Exercise: bike ride, 10 km
5. Life changing: well this project is the most life changing in a long time. Food has been a big part of my life, still is but know the right stuff!

BBC#3. Value or price?

I am not a fashion girl. I am not a shopaholic. I am a simple girl. I prefer simple food and don’t understand what is meaning of luxury restraint. But…I always disappointed when boys invited me in cheap cafe. What’s a double standard’s? My couch says it gets from incertitude. In fact I want to be evaluated very high. That’s why I was so glad to be invited to the high class restaurant yesterday. Maybe is a psychological problem for me. Anyway shame on me if I want to be sold like goods on the market place. Big girl, but so stupid.
Values of person are features, talent, kindness, smell, voice, and look, open minded, eyes light, inner light, sexuality, but not weight, height and age. I appreciate my friends for their thoughts and able to be open and open minded. End now is time to appreciate myself for these features.
My super 3 was not good last day. But I try
.

1.       Bike. Sorry. Was in the luxury place with Mister X.
2.       Beauty. Yes. Wash my face with cube of ice. Use a mask of kelp from the White Sea.
3.       Clean. Not thrown garbage but cleaned some secret places of my cave. Didn’t clean my mind. Have no too much. Keep it for future audit.

the Ninja Diet #17: Good day: got a job and a booty call...

I stick to my veggies! No matter what...
Well... Let me first explain this expression "booty call".
Thanks to my youngsters at home I am updated in the 2000 centurie.
A booty call was not possible when I was young. To call someone after 10 pm was considered rude and my mom would have answered the phone. There were no cell phones in the 80's...

Booty call: A late night summons -- often made via telephone -- to arrange clandestine sexual liaisons on an ad hoc basis.

My Butterfly battle co writer Natasha in Petrozavosk is keeping her flirting alive.
I am focusing on my vegetables...Therefore I got very surprised by yesterdays call. It took me embarrassing 5 minutes to understand who it was:  an old fling...
A booty call is not common at 3.30 pm in the afternoon. More likely at 3.30 am.
It always puts me in a good mood to know I am unforgettable...
I got back to my veggies while the guy called me three times to make sure I got his message clear.
I hope he found someone else for his urgent needs.

If you want to know more: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/04/science-has-defined-booty-call_n_4385443.html

The second happening of yesterday is the accomplishing of the goal I wrote about in the Daily Greatness Journal less than two weeks ago.
I got a "summer job" I have been wanting for seven years.
More on this topic later on.

I found my diary from 1982-83 while cleaning the house today.
Strange to read the thoughts of Eva Marie, 15 years old.
I realized that the Butterfly Battle Blog is my modern diary.

1. Meal plan:I added a great amount of veggies. It worked! Got me stay away from over eating.
2. Inspirational reading: A lot.
3. Meditation: Yes! A wonderful time!
4. Exercise: I took a break...Bad weather...
5. Life changing: Absolutely. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life!

The Ninja Diet #16: Pain in the ass...Back on track again

Last days bike riding results in a everlasting pain in my ass and thighs.
It doesn't bother me a lot as these areas are main targets in the Butterfly Battle.
No pain, no gain...
A few centimeters less around my hips could get my in to tons of nice pants, dresses and coats waiting in my closet for a life in the summer sun.
Motivation is high at the moment i Luleå, Sweden.
I had my thought sorted out the other night.
Yesterday my own personal trainer and son Elisha suggested some small but effective changes in the Ninja Diet. After more than two weeks on the level 1800 kilo calories I am reducing the intake increasing the vegetables. In combination with exercise it will make changes.

I am inspired by Natasha, my blog co writer in Petrozavodsk, Russia setting new goals after 21 days at the Samurai Path. When we started writing this blog together we were more or less strangers. Everyday I am smiling reading her post. We are very much alike in many ways. My house is upside down at the moment due to a large clean out of stuff. National holiday tomorrow and a day off on Friday gives me four days in a row for completing a part of my plan. I'm working through my book. I could open a library here in Svartöstan. I love books too much...

1. Meal plan:Yes! Strong motivation today! A lot of veggies and water!
2. Inspirational reading: about karma
3. Meditation: No. Too much to do...
4. Exercise: 30 minutes of biking, I manage a hill I didn't the other day!
5. Life changing: getting closer to one main goal every day!

Nothing can stop me! I feel like a steam loco motive.

The Ninja Diet #14: На здоровье/cheers to a new morning/life!

Finally I got to use my wine glasses...I don't drink alcohol. Champagne is my only vice...
This is a healthy green drink!

The former gym owner Anders gave me an advice last night on how to keep a lower and better weight. It's all about the lymphatic system regarding to this experienced instructor of body and mind.

Every morning I need to consume a drink made of two celery stems, a finger of fresh ginger, half a lemon and a large glass of water mixed together.
I went out in my garden to celebrate the early spring morning. 5 am... Monday...
I love the ingredients. They are all my favourite veggies. The taste is fresh and stingy!
I am excited to see the coming impact of my weight loss.

I had to google on lymphatic... I still don't understand much. I will get back on this subject.

Two weeks of the Ninja Diet. The food plan is no problem. I have been reflecting over the rest of my daily goals. I don't take them seriously enough.

Natasha, my co writer in Petrozavodsk, Russia, is thorough with her 21 days down the Samaurai way and changing some of her goals. She is inspiring me with her 5 point a day system. I will get better cashing in my points...

1. Meal plan: Very good!
2. Inspirational reading: on meditation and mindfulness
3. Meditation: No. I am planning to bad.
4. Exercise: A walk with my bird! First time ever!
5. Life changing: Planned next week in my the daily greatness journal.

Samurai#21. Output and New goals

I worked hard. I tried to keep my 5. 21 days. Daily reports. I did it. I have lost my weight and fixed my points. Some of them are became my habits. The rest not! But I don’t see a big problem about. I refocus my goals and keep going. I wake up early every morning. It’s my good habit now. I eat only right food, but sometimes try something wrong. It’s my second habit now. My sport was my best habit even before Samurai Way – and I able to hold it in my life. Flirting was my number 4 and I did it seldom, time after time and forced it. I realize The Big Truth – you must be a pretty and active and flirt will come to your life without special effort. My 5th point was spirituality. The same like flirt. Don’t try to be a guru if you just simple girl. Keep your mind clean and quiet and be happy.
Anyway, I had been writing for a 21 days in English. It’s my 6th and the main achievement. It became my brilliant habit which I wanted to improve but it happened earlier then I dreamed.
My next steps very simple and less than before. I’ll be focus on beauty, bike and order in my house and in my soul. Every day I will try to do something useful for my beauty, have bike hours and throw one unnecessary thing from my house and from my heart and head. It will be Samurai Way. Level 2.
My 21th Day points
1.       Wake up early. Thanks god for the White Nights which almost coming in Petrozavodsk. Very easy to rise with rising sun.
2.       Food. 7.00  - coffee silence, 8.00 rice with pumpkin, olive oil and curry, 14.00 – meat with paprika, 20.00 - beets with parsley, 22.00 – apple with ginger tea.
3.       Sport – I had a rest from excises because tomorrow it’s starting again.
4.       Flirt – only one phone conversation. Not long. Just fake.
5.       Spiritually way is not for me. I have no rights to be a guru yet. May be later…

The Ninja Diet #13: More "mir" (peace) please!

While Russia was celebrating the Peace day with a great parade yesterday, I was reflecting over Sweden and World War II.

We officially  never took side during the war but did let the Germans use our railways traveling to and from invaded Norway, transporting soldiers and war material.

Sweden covered about half of Germany's iron ore needs during the war.

American and British soldiers emergency landed in Sweden and where smuggled back to Britain with Swedish help.

Sweden spend more money on the Winter war in Finland than in it's own defence budget 1939-40.

1200 Swedes were fighting the Russians in Finland.

Sweden was neutral... Well, at least the country was kept out of war.

It's 201 years since we last was involved in a conflict. Of course this is forming the Swedes.
We are not patriots. We are peace lovers. We don't have generations of people destroyed from wars: mentally and physically.

When Europe was in ruins, we build up a well fare country with benefits for all people.

There are no problems with corruption in Sweden. And if something occur, journalists are investigating the businessmen, politicians, and even the king.

During a seminar yesterday arranged by the Russian community here, I took part of stories from Russian people born in German prison camps in Norway. Returning home they where secluded from society. The man and the women telling their parents stories where more than 70 years old.

If Sweden would have been involved in the World War II, my dad, born 1926, would have been a fighting soldier. How glad I am he wasn't.

In Luleå almost 25 000 Russian soldiers and civilians passed by on their way home 1945. Some waited in camps outside Luleå for the return trip. A memory stone was raised the other day and I paid it a visit.

While we are celebrating 70 years since WWII ended, there are more people escaping from wars in the world than in many years. I hope they reach our countries safe and get welcomed. Everyone has a right for protection. Every human being has the right to peace. More "mir"!

The Ninja Diet:
1. Meal plan: More planning. Food has to be ready after a long day. I am bringing as much as I can on the go. When the Russians of Luleå invited me for a chocolate cake, I ate two hard boiled eggs instead.
But too much to do today made shopping and dinner late. Cranky...
2. Inspirational reading: not much...But inspired of what I heard about the children of war.
3. Meditation: No
4. Exercise: 10 kilometer on the bike in rain...
5. Life changing:Volunteer work for Save the children

The Ninja Diet #11: Bye bye bus! Hello bike riding...

Yesterday was the last day for my bus card. I will not by a new one. I will bike ride.
As I can't find the motivation for exercise. My son Elisha is in Stockholm as well as his PT- colleague Prince Daniel of Sweden (the last one no longer available for clients I guess...). Elisha is making people fit and strong at SATS Haninge. His mother is riding the bus avoiding any daily exercise...
I will force my self. First bike ride of the year will take place in a few hours. It's cold in Luleå, +7C and grey weather. I am on my way to the next city 40 km from my home. I won't bike the whole way!
I start the first 5 kilometer on my bike and the rest on a bus. I don't look forward to it. But I have to.

Yesterday with the expiring bus card, I took the last trip with my lovely neighbour Ulrika, the photographer of the picture above. We have had great conversation during this winter on the bus stop and on the bus. We have known of the existence of each other as we both have lived for many years in Svartöstaden, Luleå, but actually got to know each other at the bus. I hope we can have a picnic in the summer by the river of Luleå.

The Ninja day wasn't the best in history!
1. Meal plan: Well... I had to admit...I had a few sandwiches at night. Too much stress during the day. Back on track today again!
2. Inspirational reading: No time
3. Meditation: No time
4. Exercise: No time
5. Life changing: working hard on my karma!

Me and Ulrika on the bus number 7!

The Ninja Diet #10: Sleeping beauty... Waiting in vain for the prince...

My Russian sister Natasha, in Petrozavodsk, has on her list to get up early in the morning.
As I am up at 5 am, my goal should be to stay up later. At least when invited a Friday  after work. Mariana and her husband have a fantastic sofa, where I slept for 30 minutes in the middle of the party. I was sober but so tired. Nor sweet or spicy dreams (read Natashas post from yesterday).
The picture Mariana took of her boring guest is nice. Looks like a painting by Rembrandt.
No prince woke me up, and later that night I met a frog. Thanks to the champagne he wasn't a total waste, but close to...

It's now 9 pm. I go to bed. Good Night!

1. Meal plan: Nice garlic chicken for dinner, see picture from yesterday!
2. Inspirational reading: More about eating right
3. Meditation: very short
4. Exercise: No....
5. Life changing: Started a children group for "Save the Children". First meeting was great!

The Ninja Diet: Garlic chicken with bean vermicelli

Without asking my son Elisha, the meal planner of the Ninja Diet, I swapped the rice to noodles made of beans. They are easy and fast. Bring water to boil. Remove from the stove. Add the vermicelli. You have to cut the strings in order to get them in to the water and when they are ready. They are very long!

The garlic marinated chicken I sliced thin and fried with caraway, salt, white pepper, smoked paprika and spring onion.
I fried the sliced onion, a lot of garlic, Sambal Badjak and sliced bell pepper. Not too long.
Kind of Chinese inspired dish!

The Ninja diet #9: Me and the Swedish Prince Daniel

You have to kiss many frogs until you meet your prince, it's said.
The Swedish Crown Princess Viktoria met her at the gym. Daniel was her PT. Not a frog.
He turned out to be a prince.

Last year I met  Prince Daniel in Luleå and he was a real nice chap.
I asked about some advice for my son Elisha, new at his job as a PT. Prince Daniel told me about the  "happy client effect" that will get whole families to use you as a PT.
Today I would ask him about how to find the motivation for exercise...

Take a close look at the picture. It's a "before" photo.  About 15 kilos ago!

I am striving for some changes in life. I wrote them down under 90-days goals in my "the daily greatness journal" on Sunday.

Yesterday I've got a mail about something I wanted to do for seven years. Time will tell.

To plan is not a bad idea, weather it's food, exercise or life.
Everything is going my way and I feel like a queen!

1. Meal plan: Yes! The boiled cod from yesterday with white wine sauce still makes me smile!
2. Inspirational reading: all about vitamines and minerals
3. Meditation: very short
4. Exercise: A looong walk in nice company, Rose-Marie and her baby son
5. Life changing: Very close to one of my goals. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

The Ninja Diet: Boiled cod with white wine sauce and shrimps

I love working days dinner with class!

Today my inspiration took new heights...

I started with the white wine sauce:

fine chopped parsley and a quarter onion fried in butter

Add 1.5 dl of fish bouillon mixed with 1.5 dl of white wine, white pepper corn, dried thyme, and a few bay leaf.
Cook for 20 minutes to reduce to half the amount, add 0.5 dl of cream. Let it cook together and get thick. For thicker consistence add half a tablespoon of maizena or flour. Pull through a strainer.
Add some  salt, butter and a little lemon juice.

Put 200 g cod in a pan. I measured up water to cover it and then took the fish out. I put 1 tablespoon of salt in the water.
Let the water was boil, return the fish.
Let it cook again and when it does, immediately remove the pan from the heat. Cover it with the lid and let it be for 7 minutes.

Serve with 1 dl of rice and some shrimps and the veggies of your choice. I had cucumber, tomatoes and pineapple.

Even people who doesn't like fish will love this dish!

The Ninja Diet #8: Thank you for the love bombing

It's said it's easier to reach a goal if you tell your friends about it, no matter what you are aiming for.
Last days my friends have been love bombing me with compliments for the weight loss. Many of them at  Facebook commenting my new look, others at work, in the street, at the bus. Every "good job", go girl", keep on"," I'm following your blog" is giving me more power to keep up the fighting spirit in the Butterfly Battle.
I am touched over how fantastic people are to me. Some are close friends, others I never would have expected so generous take time to support me! I am surprised and very grateful for everything.
I am sending a lot a love to all of you! And in case I don't know you personal yet, please feel free to write you comments about the Butterfly Battle Blog here. Of course it is for everyone!

I am thinking about choices and priorities made in life and how you sometimes cast pearls before swine. Nothing is actually a waste if you believe in Karma. What comes around goes around.
But when the energy is put in something good for yourself and others it makes everything brighter.
There are many people asking about how Natasha and I are losing weight and about what food we are eating. It's not a secret everything is written here. Just look back in the blog!

Exercise has been my weak spot so far. I just can't find motivation to start. My son and the PT at SATS Haninge, Elisha, is 1000 km away from Luleå; Sweden. How lucky I am having friends ready to give me a push in the right direction.
Yesterday Carola had booked a walk in the hood. She cancelled it, but as I had my mind set on it I did it anyway. The evening was fabulous with sun and glittering water. I even meditated outside to the songs of happy spring birds.

This morning one of my oldest friends Rose-Marie asked my to join her and her baby son for a walk.
Rose-Marie made up with her over weight and won the battle. She's now slim and fast. Walking about 10 km daily. She is a good company as a long time friend and she also knows how hard it is to exercise with a lot of extra kilos to drag around. We had serious talks and I walked for one hour! Fantastic! She was kind to take the picture of me above and also this selfie:

The Ninja result of yesterday:
1. Meal plan: no problem
2. Inspirational reading: about fat; good and bad
3. Meditation: wonderful outdoor session in the sun
4. Exercise: YES-finally, a walk
5. Life changing: small adjustments leading to a great change

Very inspiring of your mood, sister. It's my greeting from sunny Petrozavodsk just now.

Sun today in Luleå! The early veggies has arrived. Carrot and radish. Lovely.

 Saffron made today's feast:

Fast "risotto"with saffron/honey chicken

Cut quarter of an onion in small pieces and fry with two pressed cloves of garlic in rapeseed oil. Mix in quarter of  an envelope of saffron.  Add half a sliced bell pepper. I used red, orange and yellow.
Add 1 dl of boiled rice. Fry together.

Sweet and juicy chicken and a tasty rice! Enjoy your meal!

One week following The Ninja Diet composed by my oldest son Elisha, Personal Trainer at SATS Haninge in Stockholm, Sweden. He is coaching me on a distance. Luleå is 1000 kilometers north of our capital.

I feel good! The kilos are melting off my body. Five kilo so far in the Butterfly Battle: Sweden vs Russia!
My blood sugar stays in control. My old clothes are fitting again. Happy to wear the pants I've got in New York many years ago.
My self esteem is rising.
I am planning my meals and my daily activities. I get a lot done. The weight loss is my primary goal right now. And nothing can stop me!

Food plan: YES!!!
Inspirational reading: YES!
Meditation: YES!
Exercise: Not yet...
Life Changing: YES!

The Ninja Diet: Smoked Rainbow trout with baked veggies and swedish "Kalix roe"

Another way of serving the smoked rainbow trout:

200 g smoked rainbow trout (I prefer it cold)

potato, carrot, red onion, parsnip, garlic or what ever you have at home or prefer:
in small cloves, some BBQ spray, olive oil, honey (mixed in a little hot water)
salt, pepper, paprika powder, I love it STRONG! Bake in the oven until soft, 25 minutes at 250 C..

1 large tablespoon fat free quark and a spoon of roe from Kalix , Sweden, (you can use Russian caviar as well)
Dill, red pepper corn, salt on the top!

If you want to know more about the meal plan, please red the posts from the 27th of April!
Elisha, PT at SATS Haninge has composed a daily 1800 kilo calorie diet.

The Ninja Diet #6: Partyninja at the nightclub with glass of water and an orange...

Saturday night at the Hotel Savoy in Luleå. Not as exclusive as it sounds, but nice.

Keeping the Ninja spirit up during the evening out. In the glass: water.
When the hunger kicked in I found a orange at the front desk of the hotel.

Luleå has a population of only 75 000. No surprises at the night club. The same people every week.... Yes one. The former owner of a gym in the 80'ies was here on a visit. The only one who could speed up my heart a bit. He was still as charming and good looking as 30 years ago.

The wove to my self: my future man has to be born in a city with more then 1 000 000 people...

Food plan: YES
Inspirational reading: YES about nutrition
Meditation: YES
Exercise: Well, a stroll...No dancing. Too old music...
Life Changing:  YES: the wind of feng shui is flying through my house.

The Ninja Diet: indoor grilled chicken, bell pepper, tomato and broccoli

Still bad weather in Luleå, Sweden. The grill season has started for the enthusiastic.
For me as well: indoor.
200 g thin sliced chicken breast sprayed with glace and grilled for some minutes
paprika powder, salt additional and some "Sambal badjak" on the side.
tomatos
bell pepper of three colors
boiled broccoli
1 dl of rice

A perfect Saturday night dinner remaining of the summer to come! And a healthy choice if preparing for beach 2015!

The Ninja Diet #5: -5 kg in the Butterfly Battle

Happy news today from the scale!
I have lost 5 kilos since Natasha from Russia and I started our Butterfly Battle Blog about a month ago.
The Ninja Diet is a great help, the contract with my son about not eating anything fat or sweet also makes it easier and the inspiration from  my creative sister Natasha in Petrozavodsk is worth a lot.
All our readers, 10 000 in a month, I can't believe it's true, and friends in Sweden/Russia is giving a lot of support. There is no chance for Natasha and I to back out of this.
We have to keep fighting the over weight!

Yesterday I was spending time with my new planner "Daily greatness journal- a practical guide for consciously creating your days". Everyday you are supposed to sit down and plan your day and later reflect over how it was going. You also make long time goals; I wrote eight 90-days goals.

The Ninja Diet #5:
1. Meal Plan: I spread out the food more even through out the day. It helped. It's harder not to get cravings, easy to mix up with hunger, on a lazy day at home. Luckily my own "movie director" Niclas came and picked me up for a ride to the supermarket. Got some new great fruits and veggies. The sour kiwi fruit helps a lot against cravings.

2. No reading, but I spend a lot of time organizing up all my books and found a lot of inspirational ones I had forgotten about!

3. Meditation: short but very good!

4. No exercise: not yet, soon to come...

5. Life changing: a lot of writing in my "Daily greatness journal. Feels good to have it written down. Like here in the blog. Easier to reach the goals if they are visible.
